About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Big Data Engineer to join our Kuwait Data Center in Al Ahmadi. You will design, develop, and optimise large‑scale data pipelines that support advanced analytics initiatives across the organisation. This role offers the chance to work with cutting‑edge technologies in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable data ingestion, processing, and storage solutions using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and related ecosystems.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to translate business requirements into robust data models and pipelines.
- Ensure data quality, reliability and performance through monitoring, testing and continuous optimisation.
- Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
- Maintain documentation of data architectures, workflows and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in big data engineering or a related field.
- Strong proficiency with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Hands‑on experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala or Java.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
